Alex Robinson is Outdoor Life’s editor-in-chief. He oversees an ace team of writers, photographers, and editors who are scattered across the continent and cover everything from backcountry sheep hunting to trail running. He lives in Grant, Minnesota, with his supportive wife, well-mannered duck dog, and feral toddler.

Experience

Robinson started as an intern for Outdoor Life in 2008. Since then, he’s covered national conservation issues, like logging in the Tongass National Forest and mining plans near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. He’s interviewed the Secretary of the Interior and factory workers from Lonoke, Arkansas. In 2019, Robinson was promoted to editor-in-chief of Outdoor Life. He oversaw the title’s transition from a print magazine to a growing digital publication.

Education

Robinson graduated from The University of Minnesota, with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a minor in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation.
